Vital Sutures
Non-Absorbable Sutures
These sutures, as they are not reabsorbed by the body, require a second procedure for removal or remain permanently in the body. They have a lower risk of infection and a tendency to form keloid scars. Like absorbable sutures, they can be single filament (monofilament) or twisted or braided multifilament and can be of natural or synthetic origin.
