Twisted Linen: non absorbable suture of vegetable origin and multifilament structure, obtained from the long fibers of linen. Good workability and high tensile strength, which increases when the suture is maintained in a moist environment. Twisted Linen strands produce high tissue reaction and are of high capillarity, which could enhance infection and delay healing. It is suitable for procedures requiring a high strength nonabsorbable suture.

Twisted Linen is a non absorbable surgical suture of vegetable origin and twisted multifilament structure. Although it causes significant tissue reaction, shows no uniform diameter and gauge in its manufacturing and is very easy to humidify, it has very good security in the knots and high tensile strength. This suture’s strands are not reabsorbed, but over time they’re encapsulated by tissue and lose 50% of its strength over a period of 6-9 months.

  • This suture is indicated in general surgery, gastrointestinal, gynecology / obstetrics and ligatures in general. It can be used in any procedure where tissue support is not required for a long time, and the tensile strength does not have to be extreme.
  • These multifilament threads can promote infection, so it is not convenient to use them if it is present, and the fibers have the tendency to separate.

  • Color: white.
  • Boxes per 12 and 36 units.
  • Sterilized by Ethylene Oxide.
